DO I NEED A SPORTS HYPNOTIST?  

That is a question many athletes have not considered. Yet they train their bodies for physical development and they train hard for the technical skills to advance in their sport but often the mental training is left out.

Good coaches know how to motivate an athlete or a team and often use various skills they learned while an athlete themselves, or from books or other motivational speakers. All of this is good and helpful to the individual athlete. But what these methods do not do is personalize it to the individual. Many athletes, and individuals for that matter, carry around a lot of suppressed “baggage” that directly influences their thought and anxiety in the heat of the game. They may not even know the root of it but they do know they can and do have mental collapses and cannot seem to find the cure. Positive thinking just isn’t enough.

You may have experienced this for yourself as an adult or as an athlete. The very thing you tell yourself not to do comes up in the mind and the task at hand is not achievable. Despite the best in preparation and training even great athletes have times or conditions they struggle with.
