It is our philosophy at Sabotage that by wrestling Freestyle and Greco Roman our wrestlers with develop a much more creative, dynamic, and aggressive style of wrestling, especially in the neutral position where the majority of time is spend on your feet. Furthermore, Freestyle and Greco Roman allows our wrestlers an opportunity to wrestle year round to gain more overall mat time. It goes without saying that by wrestling freestyle our wrestlers will gain unequivocal exposure at the National stage where they will compete against various state champions from across the nation, including Pennsylvania and Ohio, at tournaments such as Junior Nationals in Fargo, ND. All of these Freestyle and Greco tournaments will allow our wrestlers to get recognized by many NCAA Division I and other college coaches and potentially obtain scholarships to wrestle in college. We are extremely interested in wrestlers who want to wrestle beyond high school and college to try to become World and Olympic Champions while representing our club, State, and our Nation. Freestyle, Women Freestyle, and Greco Roman are the only wrestling style currently in the Olympic Games. It is our mission to be there supporting you and your dreams every step of the way, all the way to the Olympic Gold!
It is also our goal to consistently give our wrestlers opportunities to learn from other countries through training camps and international competition. There are numerous international tournaments for schoolboys/girls, Cadets, and Junior where we can compete as a club without having to qualify through State or National trials. It is crucial to the future of USA wrestling that we start developing quality international caliber wrestlers at the age group levels to allow our seniors to become more successful at the senior Worlds and Olympic Games.
As US National Freestyle Coach, Zeke Jones said: “The time is now to learn freestyle wrestling. Whether you just want to improve your wrestling technique and skill, want to become a state placer or champion, or even want to become a World and Olympic Champion, freestyle wrestling is mandatory to become successful. If you have high wrestling goals freestyle wrestling must be a part of your yearly wrestling plan.”
